Piping Plover Inbound
Walking along the beach in Maine, it looked like there was no activity. Until you get down to ground level, you could not see these little fluff balls scurrying over the sand. I crept over slowly to where three Piping Plovers were and laid down on my belly. These Piping Plovers are considered part of the threatened population along the east coast United States. Shorebirds face many challenges in both their wintering and breeding grounds and are a focus for conservation efforts.
