Black Bear on the Ridge
This is without a doubt my favorite photo of a Black Bear that I have taken to date. I was hiking up a steep ridge to look for migrating warblers, when as I reached the top of the hill, this black bear appeared. I think I had startled him from a nap he had been taking at the top of the hill. I froze and watched as he stood there examining me. Being only a few feet from such a large bear is a very humbling and amazing feeling. This bear decided to turn and walk down the hill. I was able to follow from a safe distance and watch the bear move through the forest. He appeared to be searching for anything to eat rummaging through decaying logs. Then there was a moment that I will not forget. This bear proceeded to get all excited and run part of the way up a tree, only to climb down and climb up another tree. The only thing I can compare it to is if you ever saw a dog get all excited.

The dimensions provided are the actual printed image dimensions. The white boarder adds to the overall print size.
